multiple contact list/ tabbed contact list

would it be possible to have the contact list say tabbed? where as you can put each client/group in a different tab or be able to seperate the bubbles to place them in different parts of the desktop? i would love to be able to have my list smaller on the screen concidering how many contacts i have

We've talked about this before, you may want to search for more information. The consensus is: this would be an awesome feature, but would take a lot of work and isn't a high priority at the moment.
