I can't log into the polish comunicator Gadu-gadu via Adium. It gives me an error:

"2265858 (Gadu-Gadu) : Error

Connection failed."

I'm a new mac user. On the PC i used both AIM and Gadu-Gadu... b/c that is what most of my buddies have.

I really would LOVE for gadu to work on Adium as advertised! :(

What could be wrong? I didn't switch anny settings. and i double checked (back on windows) to make sure my number id and password were correct. What now?

Are you still getting the issue? If you are still getting issues does anything display in the console application*

I just created an account for myself and managed to log in without any issues.

* Console application can be found in /Applications/Utilities/Console.app . The when in there menu: File > Open Quickly > console.log. Hit clear and then in Adium try reconnecting. When the connection fails, see if anything is displayed in the console window.

today GG works fine on Adium, i guess it was some temp. 1-day server problem.

But then why did it work fine on the original client and Spik communicator yesterday while not working on Adium? Strange.

the gadu-gadu does not want to work for me... I got the following ouput in console:
2007-04-10 21:01:32.102 Adium[861] INVALID: fd was -1; returning tag 332
2007-04-10 21:01:32.173 GrowlHelperApp[85] 2007-04-10 21:01:32 +0100 Adium: Adium (5157405 (Gadu-Gadu) : Error
Connection failed.) - Priority 0

However I am sure that is should work as I am using console version of gadu-gadu which works fine.

I guess the problem is the firewall I'm behind... but why it works in console and not it adium?
Could someone help me please..
Thank you,

I am runningAdium 1.2.2b1 on a MacBookPro3,1 on Mac OS 10.5.2 and I am not having any issues connecting to Gadu Gadu. I am connect to the internet with an Airport Extreme router. Could it be possible the you might need to open up a port 80 on the router or connect via a proxy?

Strange things happens to my gadu gadu account. When I log on to gadu gadu adium connects, but after few seconds it crashes. Every time. What is strange is the fact that when I logged on to my sisters gg acount everything was fine.

Do you have any ideas what is going on ?

Well lets begin with square one.
1. What OS are you currently running?( Ex. Leopard 10.5.2)
2. What version of AdiumX do you have?(Ex. 1.2.3b1)
3. What hardware do you have? (Ex. Intel/ PowerPC)
4. Have you had this problem all the time or just recently? When did you notice this issue?
6. You mentioned that it crashes very soon after you login.
How many contacts do you have on your list vs your sister? Since AdiumX automatically downloads and uploads all your contact to the server this might be causing some type of issue(Ex. invalid character or formating).
7. Can you download the current Adium beta (http://beta.adiumx.com/) and go to Adium=>Debug Window and click on Log to ~/Library/Logs/Adium Debug to try to capture your crash. I wish that Adium would automatically create a crash report. I think it did in the past.
8. Once you have the crash report, verify that there isn't another ticket similar to this on Trax (http://trac.adiumx.com/search) (I looked you should be ok)
9. Create a trax account (http://trac.adiumx.com/register)
10. Create a ticket on Trax for this particular issue.

------------------

Unrelated to this particular issue, I am wondering if other people using Gadu are having issue seaching the public directory. See ticket #9035. I am using Leopard OS 10.5.2 on an MacBookPro (Intel). I crash every time.

Whenever I see a gadu ticket. I typically automatically open up a ticket with Pidgin since it is often(not always) an issue with libpurple. Gadu unfortunately isn't seeing the TLC it did did in the past but again Gadu at one point in time was completely unusable before the Gaim Google Summer of Code. I have noticed that more and more people are using gadu with Adium as a result. So we need to be happy with what we have. Evan, one of the lead delopers, has been kind enough to look at some Gadu issues in Adium in the past. I deal with troubleshooting on a daily basis so I know the more information one has makes it much easier to identify the problem. If the problem is reproducable, then maybe someone might be able to look at the problem. I am glad to have been of assistance.
