Pasting Screenshots in Message Window Request.

Post by DeltaCain »

I'm new to Adium, excellent program btw.... :D

Now, I don't know if this has been brought up before, or if its on 0.8 (the beta wont install on me system right now), but I was wondering if there is a future option for if you use the Command+Ctrl+4 or 3 screen shot command in OSX that the pdf file it creates in the clipboard can be pasted in the message window and sent to the the people you are chatting via file transfer... Now I know 0.8 is going to fix the AIM File Transfer problems, and Im not sure that me not being able to do this is related to it. But its something I did a lot when I used iChat, and I just think its a nice little feature that I'd personally like to see.

Just a thought... Can't wait until 0.8! :D

Thanks, Rob

Huh... Not on any of my systems... It always saves it in the clipboard. Then I just usually paste it in whatever program I need it in... I'm running 10.3.8 like most people... Now I do remember a time when it did that safe it to the desktop, but not anymore.

Please someone try the Command+Crtl+3 key command, and tell me what happens. I'm curious now... :)

Shift-Command-3 or -4 (for a selection) saves the pdf to the desktop, but Shift-Control-Command-3 or -4 copies it to the clipboard instead.

Ah there you go... So I was right and I was wrong. I've gotton so used to using shift-control-command.... I've forgotten about the other option. (and I just notice in both posts I left out the shift when I typed. double   )

Well then it takes away a bit of the need of my request then... but its still a nice feature, see my wife and I use it to take screen shots of what we are working on instead of having to save it off as a file and then send it. We just capture, paste and send. Im in video and she's a graphic designer so we bounce ideas back and forth, its nice a fast....

Sorry if I annoyed anyone with my request...

Adium is still a wonderful program anyway :D Keep up the awesome work!
