Jabber disconnects/reconnects continuously

We run a Jabber server at work, and when using Adium versions after 1.0b16 my client continuously disconnects, then reconnects, then disconnects, etc... I don't think this is an issue with our jabber server's configuration, because other Jabber clients (Proteus, Psi, etc) all connect fine.
We require SSL login, using port 5223, and I have "Force old-style SSL" selected in my Preferences. These are the only changes I've made from the default config options. Is there something more I can do to help identify and correct this problem?
