Is there anyway to tell Adium to use a different time/date format other than the 'Medium' one in the International preference pane?

I have mine set like this:


So the date in the menu bar looks like this:


But now the message styles that show the time with %time% display this whole date, which takes up a lot of room:


I'd like to just have the time in the message window. Is this possible?

%time{somedateformatstring}%

where somedateformatstring is any string accepted by NSDateFormatter

What format does it accept?

I tried %text{h:mm a}% but that doesn't work.
