Logs: Merging, sharing?

Basically, my story is this:

I had a desktop computer, and I had a laptop on the wireless network. I used the desktop for everything until I temporarily (I thought) was using the laptop. I ended up using the Laptop for everything for months, and obviously, there is now a dramatic split in the logs.

Is there any fancy trick I can do to combine the logs so I don't have to use two computers (Or do some fancy application support switching) to access them all? There's basically no overlap in the logs (I didn't use adium on the desktop after I started using the laptop) if that'd make any difference.

Additionally, I now have a brand new mini, and am using that. I copied all the Adium data from the laptop. I'm hoping that, even if there's no way to merge logs, could I set the laptop up so it just wirelessly accesses the mini's logs, so they both use the same log files on the mini? That'd be great.

That could be acheived through a server you connect on login, and then making a symbolic link.[/code]

That's basically what I had been thinking.

I went and made a symlink of just the logs folder (To maintain all the other settings as the laptop has them, and so it wouldn't have to go over the wireless just to be checking it's dock icon and things of that nature), and it seems to be working flawlessly.

Assuming there's not a violent explosion, it's mighty handy.

syncing might be better for people who need their logs every day, everywhere.

I actually have no idea what rsync is. However, I experienced no discernable change in speed just using the symbolic link to the "Host" computer's log folder.
