Suggestion: Speech notifications & iTunes

Hi all,

Just thought I'd make a suggestion, and apologies if there is already a way to do this. I use the speech notifications for a buddy signing on and returning from away. However, is there any way to have the speech automatically stop when iTunes is playing? I know that adium can display the currently playing song, etc, in iTunes, so is it possible to have the speech notifications stopped when iTunes is playing a song?

Ideas? Is this already possible and I'm jsut overlooking it?

Thanks,
Kyle-

You could prolly make an apple script that does this.

Actually, I know you can… I just would not be the person to ask exactly how.

You would need it to:

1. Get the name of the contact into the script
2. check if iTunes is playing
3. If itunes is playing pause
4. Say the same
5. Unpause iTunes if it was paused.

Very doable,

Ahh, it's actually the opposite I want to do - if iTunes has a song playing, I want Adium to not say the name. Any way to do this?

Well if you want the oposite, I guess it'd have to be:

1. Get the name of the contact into the script
2. check if iTunes is playing
3. If itunes is NOT playing
4. Say the same
