Well it seems to have worked itself out for whatever reason. But the intial message feature seems to bring up a bubble for each incoming IM in a conversation is that right?

What version are you using? The .80 beta has 3 versions of this notification: Message Received (EVERY message you get), Messge Received - Initial (Only the first message you get from someone, i.e. you don't have a message window open with them), and Message Received in Background (Adium isn't the frontmost app).

I'm using .8 v3 thanks for the info I'll play around some more
