Hi,

I just installed adium and it works great, but
I just realized, that half of my contacts are missing.
Do you guys know why that is happening?

Services are for example Yahoo, MSN, AIM and GTalk. There is also ICQ and Jabber.

Based on your disdain for Microsoft, I expect you are using MSN. Are u using any of the others?

Cyrill, can you find any common trait for the friends that are missing. For example as the other post indicated, are they all using a certain client or OS?

Are any of the missing friends by any chance on Yahoo ( their email would be xxx@yahoo.com). The official MSN client allows you to IM with Yahoo users because MSN and Yahoo agreed to allow it. Unfortunately, Adium does not yet support this feature.

Well, 99% of my contacts have hotmail addressen and also 99% of them use Windows.

I have 13 different groups in MSN. You know like: Friends, work, school and so on. See I don't miss single users in Adium, it just doesn't show some of the groups and all the users in it.

Are you saying that when you select show offline users from the view menu that some of your offline friends are not being shown?

Or are you saying that when groups do not have an online friend, the group is not being shown?

Normally, Adium wont you show groups in which there are no online friends (though there may be ways to change that). If you go to the View menu and select show offline contacts, you should see everyone in your list.
