Away status while showing iTunes

I've Googled, and searched the forums and check the Adium X -Trac (which is foreign to me), and haven't been able to find anything that really asnwers the question.

The Question:
Is there a way to have your status as "Away" but show what iTunes you're listening to?

I'm an infant to Adium (literally some 72hrs old. Had to uninstall iChat, its a long story). For that matter I've only been using Mac for about a year and a half. So I'll apologize now if I come off a little (for lack of a better word), Freshmen-like.
A few posts have things like:
//:... (insert matrix coding haxor type stuff here)... :: "markoPolo" status is...
I have no idea how to code, enter code, or where to look for it. Someday (after school) I'll look into it.

So I guess the real question should be, (see above question) without needing code it?
If not, I'm willing to give it a shot with a little guidance. :smt024 :robin:

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Cheers!

I have to say that I don't know why you'd want to *uninstall* iChat. If you have a problem with iChat, deleting iChat's configuration files would be all that's needed to fix most problems. That is, unless you've run some "system cleanup utility" and run some unwholesome command or something like that...

anyway! welcome to Adium. You can do it very easily.

Adium > Preferences > Status.
Click the + button to add a new status message.
Set the State to Away. Then in the text box, you need to insert a specific keyword that will tell Adium to insert the iTunes information. This keyword is typically "%_iTunes", which you can type in (without the quotes), but you can customize it if you want.

To customize it, or to have Adium insert it for you, click the Edit menu > Insert iTunes Token > %_iTunes.

This can be considered code in some circles, but it's really not that hard... the reason why it's %_iTunes as opposed to something else is that it makes it easy for Adium to recognize; it's not something you're liable to type in normal away messages.

Thank you!! It works great!

iChat... well long story short, AIM stopped working. Gtalk (or bonjour) worked fine. A little research led me to a website explaining how to use iChat behind a firewall by changing ports.

On a hunch I changed which port AIM uses, and suddenly AIM worked again (via iChat). "Sweet." I thought. But I felt that the default ports were set for a reason, and decided to change it back. I thought iChax (the plugin) might have done something to AIM, so I uninstalled that. Still no AIM. At this point I decided I wanted to start all over. AIM (via iChat remember) worked great until about a week ago. I don't remember changing anything, but something did. And there's no "Go Back" button on this, so back to the beginning.
Using this

as a guide I was successful re-installing iChat but it always froze on the last step of registration. Purely out of frustration and lack of time (midterms & projects galore) I decided to give it up for now.

To avoid getting too far off topic, thanks for the warm welcome, and thanks again for the iTunes tip. Everything looks like its in working order.

Cheers!
