What do you mean by "can't see MSN"? Is it that you have an MSN account set up within Adium, and you can't see your own contacts? They may be signed off; use the View menu > Show Offline Contacts to do that.

Have you actually connected to your MSN account using Adium? On your first connection to the MSN server it should recieve all your MSN contacts and ask you what to do with them.

We want to help you but your answers and questions are vague. You need to be more specific.

For example, "ready to go" TO ME this does not mean you have actually connected to AIM and MSN to start exchanging IM messages with anyone.

Also what exactly do you mean by edit your contacts? Do you mean add new ones? Delete existing ones? Change information about them?

The first step is always to make sure they are in your buddy list. If they are, then right clicking on them in your contact list gives you some options for the things you can edit. If they do exist then you need to add them first. However as I said, the first time you connect to AIM and MSN your existing buddies should be received from the AIM and MSN servers. Hence you only would need to add buddies totally new to your accounts.

So could you please me more specific about what you desire to change? Then perhaps one of us can provide a more useful answer.

Ok First thing to do is go to the view menu and select show offline contacts. the shortcut is CMD+SHIFT+H.

If Adium received any of your Hotmail contacts, they should show up. If there are none, the problem maybe with your connection to the MSN server.

If that is the case, you might try deleting your MSN account. Quit Adium. Launch Adium. Add your MSN account again through Preferences>Accounts.

If you buddies are shown but offline, then see if you can get one of them to go online to test if things are working well.

To add contacts, go to the Contact Menu. Under the menu are both an add and delete command.

To edit a contacts information. Right click on the contact name in the contact list.

Another thing you can do to test your connections is to add yourself as a contact. That way when you are connected you should see yourself as online.
