After a while, I compiled a new SVN build today and noticed that the Tab Preferences are gone.
Luckily Adium still aranges the tabs on the right side of the window like I told Adium in the past, but something’s different. I think the positions of user icon and close button switched, but I’m not sure because I deleted the old build too soon.
Was the removal of the Tab Preferences done on purpose? Will the Tab Preferences come back?

Check the General preferences. None of the significant options which were in the temporary tab preferences are missing; they are either in General or in the advanced messages prefs.

Unless it's been released svn is subject to change, that's why it's not for "normal" users.

What do you mean by 'something'?

Don't know. From one build to another the tabs felt different. Maybe I'm just seeing things.
Have the close buttons always been on the right side (if the tabs are aranged on the left or right side)?

I've never looked at tabs on the right.

You can use svn -r <revision> update to go back to an old version and compare...
