Adium 1.0.3 and MSN
Adium 1.0.3 and MSN
Since upgrading to 1.0.3, MSN buddies are reporting that new messages to me bounce frequently. I am not sure if the upgrade is the issue or whether msn is having issues.
Keen to hear if anyone else is experiencing similar problems.
Is downgrading to v1.0.2 as simple as going back to old application or do some files in Application Support need to be deleted?

It may not be the upgrade. Using aMSN, since last Saturday (12th May 2007), I've seen some problems regarding initiating chats, and some users appearing offline when they're not. The messages bouncing may be due to this. It seems to be a problem at M$'s end rather than a problem with either client. Maybe wait for 48hrs or so, see if the trouble goes away..JohnnyKaz wrote:Is there a bug report on this? Its quite serious I reckon if its really the update's fault...

Well I've had this problem for several days now and it doesn't appear to be "letting off".
Of course, I could blame all my friends who use MSN Messenger. But in the end I'm the one who's screwed into using something inferior to Adium
Another oddity is that 3 Adium-using friends I know do not have this problem.
EDIT: I just deleted Adium from my Applications folder and reinstalled it. The problem seems to be cleared up... for now.

The problems did however start to occur after I used "auto-install" when an update showed up through the program itself for 1.0.3.
This was the first time I did it like that, instead of going to the site and doing the entire thing manually.
And like I said in previous post: Deleting the app in your Applications folder; and then redownloading -and reinstalling it should clear it up. At least it did for me.

That's just a 'magic' solution. I'm very happy it works for you, but it can not possibly have any real bearing on the problem that I can imagine. If moving the copy automatically updated out of the way and downloading a new one fixes it, and then switching back to the 'automatic update' copy breaks it again, perhaps there's something to the theory.
