Adium freezing all the time... Latest beta...

I don't know what is causing this behaviour... it just randomly freezes with 100% CPU usage and I have to force quit... It can happen when I'm chatting with just one person... Today it happened 6-7 times... It was also doing this yesterday with the previous beta...
CPU usage is fairly high when i have one-two chat tabs open... even with not many custom emoticons from the others... If I close the tabs, the CPU goes back to normal low levels...
I know my topic is very "general" but that's exactly how it started happening in the first place!
