Adium 1.03 to Adium 1.02, lost logs

OK, after having no luck with 1.03 showing avatars in Yahoo Messenger, someone recommended I backtrack to 1.02, which I did. Now I can't find my chat logs. Any recommendations? I have found them before in the past when they have been deleted, but I don't know where those mirrored files are kept.

Chat logs are in Home > Library > Application Support > Adium 2.0 > Users > Default > Logs.

I have already been there. My problem is I have a year's worth of logs that have been overwritten with the new install back to 1.02. I know that they can reside in two places or apple carries a copy somewhere, but I can't find it. I've had to recover them once before.

This just kills me. BAH!

It seems highly unlikely that your chat logs would just up and disappear. How did you downgrade?

I agree with you; that is what is bothering me. I've checked trash files too. I downloaded from a link provided on this website (within these forums) and followed the directions to download. I think clicked and dragged. 1.02 over to the applications folder. went to launch the app and had a brand new app with no history.

There is no code in 1.0.2 or 1.0.3 which could remove, delete, or otherwise modify any existing logs, excepting that a move from Adium 0.8x to Adium 1.x does a one-time rename of *.html and *.adiumLog files to .AdiumHTMLLog files.

When you say "No history" you're referring to the contents of the Chat Transcriber Viewer window, right?

that is correct. The previous history window is blank.

Also, when I go in trhogh the system try, those logs are blank as well.

I have not done anything to draw those files out of the user information at all.

Within the user folder and adium log, would each individual file be named with their user name? I should try checking that out.

My humble apologies. This is what I get for answering your posts while on the phone.

Yes, you have it correct, that is what I mean. The Chat Transcript Viewer is empty. When I locate the folder in the Users folder, that too is empty.

I did an experiment and looked for the individual userid.html files as you had hinted, and I do see them, it's just recovering them and getting them back into Adium that now has me concerned.

When is 1.04 due to be released? This all started just because i can't see user icons when I upgraded to 1.03. LOL

1.0.2 and 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 all use and see the same log files.

Now, 0.89.1 wouldn't. Are you trying to downgrade to that?

no, the number on teh title bar is 1.02. I am pretty sure i found them through spotlight, just have to meander on through
