Not recieving messages except thru Growl

With the the latest Beta build I was talking with a friend on MSN. I would get the Growl notification for her replies but they would not show up in the IM window. I tried closing the IM and opening it agin but it would just be a growl notice. My IMs would show in the IM window though.
I switched back to the official as I did not have time to play with it to decipher the prob as yet.
Oh I am using 10.3.9 as well.

What version is the "latest beta build"? Any output to /Applications/Console.app?
1.0.4 is basically ready for release; so we'll need your help fixing this if it is going to be fixed. It's worth noting that you might be the last 10.3.9 user

Life had been busy the last few days so I hadn't a chance to post that ..I apparently had b3 build..I just did the b4 one and it is working fine.
sorry for the false alarm.
::::hanging head:::: I know I am one of the last 10.3.9 users and will be stuck on the 1.0.x versions for now. Can't swing to buy a 10.4 yet.
