96*96 sized user pictures in contact list?

Post by 1985 »

I would like to see the "Icon Slider" go further than to 48*48...

Picture size

Yeah, I agree, it would be nice to be able to see our contact's pictures in a larger format... sometimes people chose to use 640x480 digital photos; how are we supposed to look at thoses ?
Even though it's supposed to be an ICON that represents you, pepole don't use the function like that since it is possible to go very high up in the resolutions.

Any size below 250*250 is an icon to me :)

There is a 'user icon' button in the toolbar with the upcoming 0.8 release which will display the user's full size image.

Which protocol supports 640x480 digital photos as user icons?

You may manually edit the icon size in your .listLayout file (drop it on a text editor) to a larger value. I'd be curious to see a screenshot of your contact list with insanely large icons, because in my experience even 48x48 becomes quite excessive for a contact list.

Thanks! I got 'em set to 128*128 now :D I only got 16 contacts and there's usually only like 3-6 online at the same time and I keep the offline + the ones I've never met in IRL hidden.

Three screenshots of how it looks:

Only friends online

Friends + Others

Everyone (notice that the first group, with IRL friends, fits nicely to the screen 8) )

~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/libgaim/icons/
(Don't know if it's exactly the same path on your machine)

If they're 640*480 you probably would sort after size to find those "icons"

Just keep the forums family oriented guys. We have people here who are too young for that kind of language.

Yeah, well, but much like a 60s sitcom, we pretend they don't :)
