I did something and I'm not sure what. I do not use any of the encryption options available and do not intend to. However, I accidentally selected something and want to revert to the default settings.

When I select Default as my option under Encryption Settings, what does that mean exactly? What are the default settings?
How do I just turn all of the encryption stuff off completely?

I'm sure it's a stupid question, but thought I would ask anyway.

You're talking about the encryption setting of a single contact that can be set in the information panel, or am I wrong?

You can set the default behaviour for every account/service in the account preferences ('security' tab). I think the "factory setting" is 'no encryption' so you don't have to do anything for turn it off. Just let everything on 'default'.
