Set status to "away" without any status message?

Post by meandcat »

Hi,
everytime i set my status to away, Adium automatically sets a status message for me also saying "away". But sometimes i'd like to have just the status icon without any message at all. I tried to configure a custom status in the Adium menu, but when i don't type anything in the status message box, Adium sets the message again.
Is there a way to leave the status message away?

btw the protocol i use is jabber.

You could just put a space for the status.
The duck still burns.

Yeah, that would be a possible workaround. But the result looks rather odd on the receiver's contact list as you can see in the screenshot below: there's a huge empty space under the name (Person 2). What i actually wanted is version three (i used Psi for that).

P.S.: This is not meant as a feature request. Although it would be nice, i really think i can live without it. I just wanted to know if there is a way i completely overlooked.

Hit cmd+y, change the status drop down, and leave a blank message. Does that do what you want?

@The_Tick:
That doesn't work for me. If i leave the message box empty, Adium sets the message itself.
