Leopard and Date Formats

I'm having a _very_ odd problem, and I can't figure out what's causing it. My Adium is displaying all its dates in the message windows in Swedish (such as "torsdag 1 november 2007"). This would be fine if my system's date format was set to Swedish, but it's not - it's set to U.S. English, and all the other apps on my system that display dates do so in U.S. English.
I did, at one time in the (distant) past, have my date format set to Swedish, but changed it a long time ago, back when I was still running Tiger. Anybody know if it's possible that Adium is picking up some old preference file remnant from way back when, and getting the time format from that? Can anyone suggest a test to run to determine what's going on?
(I'd file a bug, but I have literally no idea how anybody would even begin to reproduce this problem, so it wouldn't be too useful with the information I currently have; I'm just wondering if anybody has any suggestions...)
