Is there a way to make a separate event for a New Message received in a group chat? I'd love to have it so the Adium icon bounces repeatedly for normal messages received, but NOT for Group Chat new messages.

This is a semi-frequent request which wouldn't be too difficult to implement. There's a trac ticket I'm sure which you could provide any comments in.
