ignoring/skipping incoming msn messages

hello everyone
i'm having a really annoying problem with adium, and its so important that because of it i might have to change my IM client.. but i love adium

what is happening is that sometimes, i dont receive some messages people send to me. i only use the msn protocol, so i have no clue if the problem is in it(libgaim) or not.
i was using adium x stable, i tried beta but the problem still persists!
i am suspicious that it might happen when the conversion is timed out and the other person says something for the first time and the window is not closed... but its just speculation...
any clues?
thanks

i haven't experienced this. are you on a wireless network? are you sure you are connected all the time?

I had this too (on wireless, but stable) on msn but with every client not just with adium. I tried adium, amsn and the official msn. maybe even proteus.
It was really annoing and there were many misunderstandings. So for longer conversations I switched to skype, where non-delivered messages aren't lost, but sent later.
I don't know what the problem was but ICQ behaves better too, because offline-messages are stored serverside.

now that i think of it.. it may happen when you flood the message server with too many messages. so maybe you should sent them with more ease?

maybe you don't notice you disconnect? or maybe adium becomes weird when you disconnect and connect again while adium doens't notice? or does notice and shows contacts online, but in facts needs to be loggedon again to work properly?

I seem to have a similar problem, so far I have only noticed it with two friends on MSN. (One of which runs MSN 7.0.0.7777 or something like that on windows)
As far as I know the problem only occurs when I haven't typed anything in that conversation for a while. And as far as I know it only happens once in a while, not every time, (and as far as I know) not with everyone.
No, I'm not on wireless and I can have another msn conversation running with another person at the same time without loosing anything. Also, it only seems like I'm missing out what they say, not the other way around.
