Making Adium my default chat application

Post by Fofer »

I launched Adium and it asked it I'd like to make it my default application for chat. (Options offerred are NEVER - YES - NO.)

Not having using it extensively yet, I wasn't ready to "commit" and I didn't want to be asked this every time I launch it over the next few days. So I clicked "Never." I figured I could always go into the prefs and change it later if I like.

That doesn't seem to be the case now though. I can't find this option/pref anywhere. Must I use the "More Internet" System Pref to fix this? If so, this really should be added to the Adium's preferences instead. The first-time user might make a choice they change their mind about later and it'd be nice to be able to do it easily.

You'll need to use more internet. We want to provide a drop down like apple does in safari, we just haven't gotten to it yet.

Clicking "No" would have done what you wanted. Never indicates something more permanent.

Gotcha and thanks. I installed it on another machine and said "No" the first time I launched and the 2nd time I launched it, it asked again... which I thought was annoying. So that's why I chose "Never" on the 2nd machine.

In any case, thanks for the reply. It'll be nice to have an actual drop-down in the menu prefs one day.

Keep up the great work!
