I got the video working, but the person couldn't hear me.

Is there a trick to it?

There's a link which says "Push down to talk" - Click and hold down on it for your audio to go through. If you don't feel like holding down the mouse button over that link for the whole conversation, click on the "Handsfree Off" link so it now says "Handsfree On".

Surprisingly, it works pretty well...but for my conversation, the audio controls were kind of finicky (I had an echo effect with my microphone).
