Hi,

I was helping a friend set up his first Mac computer and we installed adium and it would not connect. It just sits there with the activity icon rotating. I grabbed my macbook pro and tried connecting and the same thing so I assumed that it was a server issue and told him to wait it out. As soon as I used my macbook pro at home adium connected yet 24 hours later his is still not connecting.

What would be the difference between his place and mine. Why would mine work at my place but not his? Both are just regular high speed cable internet connections. My laptop is the same in both places so I can't figure it out.

Both computers have leopard installed.

Any ideas?

I also can't connect.

Leopard (GM), through standard wifi router.

I've tried connecting via HTTP and not. I've tried allowing all incoming connections through Leopard's firewall, or blocking all incoming connections.

Skype.app has no issues. Perhaps not unrelated, but iChat (jabber account) doesn't want to connect either.

Router? If so its probably blocking the Ports needed for Adium to connect.

and those port numbers are?
