message line spacing?

i notice that the line spacing in the minimal_mod message style is quite awkward.

the username and the first line is closer to each other, but subsequent lines are spaced further apart.

how do i adjust the spacing..

1) between the username and the first line

2) between each new line

i know how to open up the css file, but i'm not sure which tag governs the above two attributes.

any help will be great.

The best way I've found to get a feel for what parts of a message style are in play in a given area is to turn on WebKit's web inspector (requires Safari 3).

1) Open Terminal
2) Type (without the quotes) "defaults write com.adiumx.adiumx WebKitDeveloperExtras -bool true"
3) Hit return
4) Open Adium, right click on a message view, and choose "inspect element"

in my case, i edit the css file, save it, and switch the message style away from and back to the one i want to see changed.

i'll definitely try inspecting as it sounds really nifty!

after trying for hours, i gave up. lol.

i also realised that switching away from and back to a message style does not reflect any css changes to the preview. i have to restart adium, so it got quite tedious. surely i'm missing the better way?

anybody would like to enlighten me on how to manipulate the line spacing as per my original post?
