Ok, so here's the problem that a search didn't show up...Unless I looked in the wrong place - If that's the case, please just point me to a link.

A while back, a couple of my friends signed onto AIM on my computer using iChat, and now, they have the user icon I had set for myself at that time. I tried opening up their info and deleting the picture, I tried getting rid of all files attached to them, yet whenever I sign back on, sure enough they have my old icon back. In my Adium prefs, I have it set to override address book icons with user set icons, so I'm not sure what else to do.

Please let me know how to make it so I see their intended icon and not the one that stupid iChat gave to them that one fateful day.

Try deleting (or moving):

~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/libgaim

while Adium isn't running. It may take two relaunches of Adium before your contacts show up, in my experience, but the icons should be reset.

As you're using AIM, chances are none of your contacts will have icons till you have a conversation with them.
