MSN Questions

So I have some specific questions about adium and msn. I've used adium quite a lot but 99% of the time I use aMSN, mainly because for msn itself, its a million times better in terms of support, but for aesthetics, layout and organization, adium wins.

Ive been having some minor and major issues, which hopefully you guys will be able to address:

1) Smileys/Emoticons I see that these are supported, especially ones that are added on by other users. The only problem is, the BASIC ones from msn are NOT showing up as normal, for example, the airplane. Why?

2) Contacts This bothers me, I remember a long time ago, back in like 0.89 or whatever stages of adium, when i ran it it would re-add contacts that i deleted from say, amsn or else where. Just last night it tried doing the same thing, something about those contacts not being on the list although on the server (or vice versa, cant remember). Is there a way to turn this crap off? No msn based client does this.

3) Display Name Is there any easy way of changing it rather than going through preferences? Microsoft Messenger and aMSN both do this with just a click at the top of the contacts windows and allows you to make the change.

3b) Contact's Display Names Not all appear correctly, I was testing out adium with microsoft messenger and aMSN last night using two different account, seeing if all is being displayed correctly, and adium was NOT picking the display name properly. Any help?

4) Avatars These dont always show up all that fast, sometimes it takes seconds, minutes, or even days to have adium finally pick up on them. What gives?

5) Personal Message Does this exist? If so, can it also be changed on the fly from the contacts list menu? (I cant check now, im at work).

6) Offline Messages Does this work?

7) Other features Yeah, this will be a long shot, but more nagging might get the developers to do something so whatever. Wheres the normal file transfer speed? Jesus, 3-5kbps transfer speeds are a joke. Webcam support? Mic support? Etc?

You need to install the full MSN set if you want all those. Search for MSN on adiumxtras.com

So you deleted them in aMSN, then Adium wants to readd them?

Do the exact same thing in Adium. You need to be using the Standard contact list window style to have a name selector visible. Double click to edit your name.

What was it showing instead? The email address? A different name entirely?

Should not be days. Seconds or minutes is perfectly reasonable. How are you testing this?

It does not exist yet; it will in a future version.
