Set Adium Status via Shortcut

I would like to have a keyboard short cut that I can hit while Adium is my "unfocused" application - and will set my global status to AWAY.

Currently, I've used the Keyboard & Mouse system preferences to assign my status. But this doesn't work as I'd like. For one, I have to be "in" Adium, but mostly what ticks me off is that when I hit my shortcut, it brings up the "Custom Status" dialog, with my message filled in - instead of simply setting my status.

If nothing else, I'd like to eliminate the need to "confirm" my status when using my keyboard shortcut.

Thanks

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you want but with Quicksilver and Applescript you can hit a keyboard-shortcut, write your away message and make it it set in Adium:

You can configure Quicksilver to open on a keyboard-shortcut of your choise, then you hit "." to open the text-edit-dialog.

So you saved a status and assigned its menu item a shortcut? Perhaps you included 'option' in the shortcut? If you're holding option when selecting a saved status, Adium gives you a chance to edit it - the dialogue you're describing.
