Adium Doesn't work at all on Leopard

Ever since I upgraded to Leopard for Christmas, Adium refuses to work. When I click on it, it says the preferences doesn't load and when I look at other stuff like accounts or status it is blank like adium got damaged. I tried to get rid of the folder, cleared the cache, I did everything and it does the same thing. I also tried updating and that won't work either.

but when I go into another account adium works fine and I don't want to switch to another account otherwise it would be stupid to switch to another account for 1 program. It would be weird to do that.

Does anyone have this problem and if so what can I do to fix it again without changing accounts?

Any Console output as Adium launches and you open the preferences?

What is the exact error message that the "preferences don't load"?

Hey I've the same problem. I click on the icon, it jumps and Leopard switches to the Space i have allocated for adium but then nothing happens.

Here's the console output:

24/01/2008 11:27:49 Adium[258] *** -[AIPurpleGTalkAccount gotProxyServerPassword:proxyConfiguration:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xdba6950
24/01/2008 11:27:49 Adium[258] *** -[AIPurpleGTalkAccount gotProxyServerPassword:proxyConfiguration:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xdba6950
24/01/2008 11:27:49 Adium[258] *** -[NSLock lock]: deadlock (<NSLock: 0x10667370> '(null)')
24/01/2008 11:27:49 Adium[258] *** Break on _NSLockError() to debug.

FYI: I use adium in college behind a proxy server which i've configured adium(4 accounts) for.

Cheers,

Ro

This is fixed for 1.2.2. For now, use a systemwide proxy instead of an account-specific one.

Hey evands,

thanks for the swift reply. Yeah a bit of messing around with proxy settings etc solved the problem.

It says something like "Preferences aren't avaliable for Adium"

Could you please quote the exact error message?

"Preferences are not available for adium"

Just checked it and that's exactly what it says.

the messenger program works on my mac... but no adium..

Not being able to find the preferences for "Adium" is probably indicative of a permissions issue. Try repairing permissions.
