Adium on iPhone

Postby Daveecee » Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:08 pm

So with the upcoming inevitable release of the iPhone SDK, the question on my mind is: what are the chances of you guys developing a simple Adium app for the iPhone?

It is something that I (and others, I'm sure) would love to see sometime in the future.

Check out Apollo IM. I believe they stop work to focus on the new software for the official SDK release. That way it will be an official program designed for the iphone and not a hack.

The answer is quite simple. No iPhone SDK, no Adium on the iPhone. Plus, nobody knows how strong this SDK is going to be and what's involved in developing and app for the iPhone using it. For all we know it can be very hard. Nobody knows.

Hence why I used the phrase "upcoming release...?"

Basically, what Crypt said here, is that we don't know if the SDK will give enough room to work with creating an iPhone Adium. At this point, since we don't have the SDK, we can't even say "maybe".
