Perhaps this falls under the "if its not broken..." category, but when Adium, which was working fine (v1.2.1) notified me there was a newer version, I went ahead and downloaded then installed it v1.2.2).
After installing one of my Yahoo accounts prompted for a password but failed to accept the current one (kept prompting despite entering the correct one--as verified in Yahoo! client). Eventually it appeared to accept it, but just reports "Connecting" indefinitely (hours, days) but doesn't.
Disabling and readding the account seemed to work, except:
a) Now another Yahoo account exhibits the same behavior.
b) All addresses associated with the account were deleted from my contacts. (I could see transcripts from them but there was no account associated with them, nor was there any way to associate the "new" account with them.) Of course when I readded the contacts, they then needed to be "approved."
On restart with launch at startup, the same behavior will happen to accounts from other services as well, but quitting and restarting seem to resolve these thus far.
Its a bummer because none of these issues occurred with the earlier version.
For the record I'm on a MacBook Pro 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 1.5.2 with all updates save QuickTime 7.4.1.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Tips?
Thanks,
David
1.2.2 reports "Connecting..." but never does...
1.2.2 update broke MSN for me; I'm still able to connect in my AIM and ICQ accounts and chat with contacts, sadly most of my contacts are in MSN and I'm getting the same thing, status will not move from "offline".lebon wrote:My 1.2.2 update completely broke AdiumX. It won't connect to MSN, YAHOO, or GTalk. The status will not move from Offline. Period.
Hopefully the 1.2.3b1 will serve me well.
I don't understand why you can't DELETE an account and recreate it; disabling just disables and keeps it around so if you recreate it, you then have two of the same account. No idea if the 1.2.2 update wiped out my MSN contacts because, well, now I can't see them.
1.2.2 also seems to have changed something somewhere because now I can't access MSN using the Fire app, which worked fine for me before I changed to Adium.
This is on Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz, Intel Core Duo processor, 4 gigs RAM, system OSX 10.4.11.
Any way to uninstall this update and get back to previous one, without being a programmer or messing up something else on my Mac? Help?!
Yahoo not connecting as well
I am experiencing the same issue with 1.2.2 and my Yahoo account. The password has been verified with Yahoo's client and that works but switching back to Adium and it does not connect. My other IM accounts connect perfectly though.
GRRRRR... The 1.2.3 beta worked fine. But today, once I installed the real deal. I am now again without an instant messenger. Same symptoms as 1.2.2! I thought the updates were supposed to fix problems! Not bring them back! I am exceedingly happy with Adium pre update. And from now on, once I get my adium stable again, I will do no more updates.
Re: 1.2.5 reports "Connecting..." but never does...
I'm having a similar issue with Yahoo messenger. It's just started in the last couple of days. I get the password box for yahoo over and over, yet when I log into yahoo messenger with the same information, no issue.
Any thoughts on this? I tried searching, but only came up with old threads.
