1.2.2 reports "Connecting..." but never does...

Perhaps this falls under the "if its not broken..." category, but when Adium, which was working fine (v1.2.1) notified me there was a newer version, I went ahead and downloaded then installed it v1.2.2).
After installing one of my Yahoo accounts prompted for a password but failed to accept the current one (kept prompting despite entering the correct one--as verified in Yahoo! client). Eventually it appeared to accept it, but just reports "Connecting" indefinitely (hours, days) but doesn't.
Disabling and readding the account seemed to work, except:
a) Now another Yahoo account exhibits the same behavior.
b) All addresses associated with the account were deleted from my contacts. (I could see transcripts from them but there was no account associated with them, nor was there any way to associate the "new" account with them.) Of course when I readded the contacts, they then needed to be "approved."
On restart with launch at startup, the same behavior will happen to accounts from other services as well, but quitting and restarting seem to resolve these thus far.
Its a bummer because none of these issues occurred with the earlier version.
For the record I'm on a MacBook Pro 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 1.5.2 with all updates save QuickTime 7.4.1.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Tips?
Thanks,
David
