New Message Style plist help

Post by ravijo »

Hey all,

As I understand, there was a switch, and you now have to have a .plist key or string to make consecutive messages separate or stay together.

I've asked people in the forum, but they never gave EXACTLY what the syntax was.

Could somebody help me? I would like the EXACT syntax and what setting is for ON/OFF

The reason is I'm going to update the iChat clone for 0.8

ravijo, Are you familiar with how the .plist editor works? If not I am sure we can help :)

The XML you want is

Code: Select all

<key>DisableCombineConsecutive</key>
<true/>
This key will only work for version 3 styles, which means that you should also update your style's template.html (or remove it to use the default which is highly preferred), move base style information into main.css, place the previously main.css variant in the variant folder similar to all others, and change your defaultNoName key to defaultVariant.

I know there was documentation on message styles somewhere but I can't find it at the moment, not sure if it's been updated for style version 3 though.

hey thanks guys!

I don't know much about extras development, and thus I've only been doing this by text editors. I've made a revision to the iChat Clone message style, with the separation of consecutive messages built in (for 0.8) and also I've redone a lot of the colours.

I guess I'll put it up on extras once 0.8 is out, but here it is before hand.
