it is synergy

its used for control itunes as you said, and you can make your own hotkeys, and it also shows a bezel window of the current track and artcover. (look on my screenshot a few posts up)

instead of synergy, you should try byte controller...it's freeware, synergy is shareware, no?

I like Quicktunes a little bit better than Synergy.
If you'd rather have the current track displayed in the menubar Quicktunes is the way to go, imho.
