status options

forgive me if someone has already asked about this before but is there a way to change the online status like in iChat? i'm not talking about the away and idle status but about the available status. i can see the available statsus for some of my friends who use iChat in my Adium contact list but i cant seem to change my own. if there isn't will there be in a later virsion?

also, is there an easyer way to set away status other than gong to the file menu? like a button on the message window or something?
