Adium 1.3svn + libpurple with MSNP14 enabled

So whats the conclusion? Working or not?

Mine hangs at 75% connecting (MSN).
Debug Window blames Authentication Error, I get this with other clients too but not while trying to connect.

If you both have @msn.com accounts you should really report that problem to the libpurple/pidgin developers.

I found a bug now, it seems that sometimes avatars doesn't get updated on some users. It doesn't always happen though and if I reconnect MSN they gets updated. The problem is that it seems they get identified as being mobile connections or something because the msn logo isn't after their email adress in the mouseover window.

It seems there are a few bugs (maybe they're already been tracked )..
1. When somebody adds you..even if you accept, when you re-open adium, you'll get another adding request.
2. Blocking seems to have effect just in the same session, at the re-open, the contact will be unblocked again.
3. Avatar refreshing is a bit (too much) slow...but this have always been ad Adium problem. People tells me "I have changed the avatar...what do you think about that? (I see the old one for at least the next 20 minutes...when I don't need to close and re-open Adium to get the new one).
4. Status messages seem to have a character limit to be shown into contacts list....when I roll over the contact for the tooltip, I see the whole one.

It's nice to see (finally) the new "search in contacts" function!

Apart from that bugs, it works very fine! No closing unexpectedly...it's very usable.

I found another bug, perhaps an Adium bug. It doesn't update pictures in my AddressBook as the stable version of Adium does.

Very interesting. It is very sad how long the Pidgin team has taken to just release or fix the minor bugs with msnp 14 and now 15.

Yes, but there are patches for most of the known issues and have been for a couple of months so hopefully somebody will commit them so that 2.5/1.3 will be released with msnp15.

It's because noone of the main developers are using MSN so much and that it's hard to work with.

1.3 will hopefully support msnp14/15 if it gets enabled in pidgin before 1.3 is released.

Some stuff seems to have been commited to the msnp15 branch today so maybe someone should build a new build, visionkrew perhaps.

thanks visionkrew for the build, trying it out now & it seems to be working well

i just tried out that facebook plugin as well - it appeared to connect, but didn't show any other signs of working (didn't show any friends online, tho i know some were) and it also stopped msn from working properly - messages weren't visible in the message window. any ideas anyone?
