here's my problem. I was careless and accidentally deleted my chat transcript viewer. i recovered the chat transcripts from my trash, but for some reason when i try to re-open a recovered transcript chat from my desktop, the chat transcript viewer pops up but nothing appears (i.e., blank chat transcript viewer). I tried to open the recovered chats through textedit, but everything came up in html format. is it possible to import recovered adium chats from my desktop back to the chat transcript viewer on the actual adium program? i'm so confused and feeling pretty computer illiterate right now! help!!!

Put them back in the proper folder. That folder is most likely Home > Library > Application Support > Adium 2.0 > Users > Default > Logs. Inside the "Logs" folder, a folder should be made for each of your accounts, for example AIM.screenname (lower case and without spaces), or GTalk.username@gmail.com, etc. Then, drop all the chat logs relevant to that account inside.

Chat logs are encoded in a format called XML, that is why they may be confusing when viewed as plain text format.
