Chat window position waay off!

For the past couple of days, whenever i open up a chat window, it's shifted away from the menubar - thus a huge portion of my window's 'chopped' off.
How can i adjust my settings to open my chat windows positioned correctly?

Similar to the way you would in the Finder:
1. Double-click on a contact to open a new chat window.
2. Adjust the chat window location and size to your liking.
3. Close the chat window.
If you open a new chat window, it ought to mimic in size and location the one you adjusted and closed.

This is a Mac OS X 10.4 problem fixed for Adium 1.3. If you hide the toolbar in your message window you will work around the problem for now.

This doesn't work apparently no matter how many times i tried
