Request: Make "Send notification" button not clickthrough

Right now, all toolbar buttons are click-through, as in you can click them even if the window are in the background.

Toolbar buttons being click-through is the standard in Cocoa apps, as far as I know.

However, this can be quite annoying in the case of the "Send notification" button.

There's been many instances when the Adium window is in the back, and I quickly throw the mouse on the window and click to bring it to the front but ended up accidentally sending a notification/nudging the other person. (which is quite embarrassing)

I believe there's a HI rule somewhere (perhaps an unwritten one) that says that "dangerous" buttons should not be click-through, and in my opinion, the "Send notification" button is plenty "dangerous." ;p

So I'd like to request that the "Send notification" button be not click-through.

Thank you very much!

Bump.

I'm hoping this change would one day be made.

Every time I change window to an Adium conversation, I hesitate for a second, fearing I would accidentally nudge the person. :\

I somehow doubt this will be done. This toolbar being clickthrough has never been a problem for me...

The rest of the toolbar is fine; the other toolbar buttons don't have as much of an immediate impact as the 'Send notification' button.

I mean, if you accidentally click 'Send file,' you can cancel. With 'Send notification'... not so much.

That's true, of course.

The best solution for your problem I can think of right now would be to just remove that button from the toolbar.
You can then still send the notifications by
a) typing “/nudge” (MSN) or “/buzz” (Yahoo!) into the inputline and sending that,
b) choosing “Send Notification” from the Contact menu or
c) right-clicking the contact in the list and selecting "Send Notification".
