Can't remove contacts from Adium!

Every time I try to remove a contact from my AIM buddy list through Adium (select contact, hit delete, press OK to confirm), when I log back on, the contact is not deleted from my list. How do I fix this?

I believe the best way is to login to iChat and delete the contact there. It certainly used to be the case, not sure if it still is.
