heyas...

so i have adium x 1.0.6 and i wanted to know if you could change the settings somehow for custom smileys, so that you dont have to type in weird commands... you know what i mean?

EXAMPLE...

i have the larepublique set downloaded, but if i want a sad face, i have to type in (:sad) you know? i would like to be able to change it to that i only have to type in (:() like i normally would for a frowny face...

that way whoever i'm typing to sees a frowny face too... not (:sad).

you know what i'm trying to say?

...well, is there a way to do it? :???:

I think I understood you correctly so here's my attempt at helping. You have to alter the Emoticons.plist inside the Emoticonset that you've downloaded. The best way to view these plists is with Property List Editor which comes with Xcode. Then you simply look down the list until you stumble upon the (sad) face. Look inside and see the triggers for that particular emoticon and add (:() to the list by looking at how the other triggers are entered. It's much easier than it sounds.

I could probably do it for you if you'd like.
