I keep seeing libgaim mentioned a lot, what is that?
Why is it important to Adium?
This isn't going in the help viewer docs, so verbose can be done here.

libgaim is the code that Adium X is based on. It is the code that the popular windows/unix IM application gaim is written around, and it is what enables our support of all the protocols that are currently included.
[to add to the above?]

libgaim is not written by the Adium team, but by those at
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ *. Adium is the graphical front end to that code, implementing the powerful features of libgaim into a user-friendly Mac OS X application.
*correct me if I'm wrong.
