Adium reads automatically status messages

Hi all,
I have a problem, Adium automatically reads status messages from users to show them in contact list, under the names.
thats a problem because some buddys in my contact list uses QIP-messenger, QIP shows when someone is reading your status message. They said, they get 10 or more "jan is reading your status"-notifications everytime i come online or they change their status.
one more thing, they get this notifications, too, when i'm in invisible status, so they can see that i am online and not "offline".
i have no way found in preferences to set off auto-reading status, is there any way to deactivate this?

brgrds

Heh, my brother also uses QIP and has reported this to me.
This is QIP's, not Adium's problem.

There isn't a way to turn off Adium's querying of your contacts' status.

I havent found a topic dealing with this, this thread seems to fit best:

Is there an option, a plugin or a script for adium, to do what miranda and qip are doing, to notify me if someone is reading my status? I recently switched from windows / miranda to osx / adium and I really liked that feature.....

Thanks in advance
