Multiple hotmail alerts

I'm using the Hotmail alert with my msn account, and sometimes I have multiple (10+) alerts saying You have new mail. Is there anyway to have adium only show one alert. Does a different checker exist that will work with os x. I just need something to tell me there are new mails, and a button to login with.
