It's too late and if they switched back to libpurple they would need more betas which would delay 1.3 too much.

You have to click the arrow under your nick and select Custom... and then write your messages there. To see other contact's PMs you can hover your mouse pointer over them in the contact list or if you wanna see them all the time you should go to Preferences->Appearance->List Layout->Customize and select show status message.

That sucks. I was hoping for 1.3 to now include msnp15 and even add custom emoticon support to bring it up and over par with the official client.

Who cares if 1.3 takes longer, we need proper MSN support. It's been a long time coming.

Those were too high hopes. Adding custom emoticons to 1.3 was never planned.

Who cares if 1.3 takes longer, we need proper MSN support. It's been a long time coming.

The devs care, they have been working on 1.3 for a long time and they think it is time to release it to the masses. MSN-pecan is a great improvement in comparison to current MSN support.

Actually, I could imagine that MSNP15 could be added without to much hiccups (you never know though!) but I don't think the dev team will change its mind. However, it seems very likely that MSNP15 will be in Adium 1.4 at the latest. Dimmuxx has done some excellent work, that's beyond all question!

Well, some regions use other im protocols more prevalently. My understanding is that Germany is mostly icq, while Poland is Gadu-Gadu. However, maybe you collect statistics for a big company and can prove this to be wrong.

That's right Italian mostly use MSN and its annoying colored nick ( without MSN plus you can only see the code ) and, first of all, comment status and invisible status.
MSN Pecan don't support off-line message: that's why I think it's better switch to MSNP15 instead of MSN-Pecan.

msn-pecan means a more immediate release. msnp15 means waiting another month at least for just testing. The Project Manager and Lead Dev decided that the best option was to go with the more immediate solution in the short term, and evaluate which library is better in the long term.

Nah don't just update it when it tells you that new version is out.

Offline messages is probably the biggest advantage and also that the msn servers seems to prioritize clients which run the latest protocol.

France only use MSN.
As you can see in sparkle stats MSN is not far behind AIM for the first place. I must say i would prefer otherwise but i'm force to use it because of my friends (No i won't change friends ) And i think MSN-Pecan is too far behind for a genuine experience of MSN.

But i agree that what the devs says must be accepted and i only hope that "we" will be more considered in the future.
