One of my contacts is showing up as offline, even when she is logged on. We are both on each other's contact lists and she even IMed me, but still showed as being offline. She is not set to invisible or appear offline. Why is this happening?

Were you able to find a resolution for this? I'm having the same frustrating problem.

A few weeks ago I downloaded and started using Adium after being a longtime Trillian user. However, I've noticed that for weeks a co-worker of mine has continually appeared as offline. He is an ICQ contact, also a user of Adium, and I appear online to him. After many online ICQ conversations and successful attempts to "Get Info", his contact's status refuses to not appear offline. I've even tried removing him, re-requesting authorization, receiving the authorization, and having the contact added back to my list - but still no luck.

While trying to figure this out, another co-worker and user of Adium of mine has said that I've appeared offline to him for at least a year, during the time I was a user of Trillian and now Adium.

I haven't been able to find much information on this issue, and am surprised it hasn't popped up on this board more often. Has anybody been able to fix this?

so I'm going to answer my own question here...

the contact i couldn't see went to privacy settings under the adium menu, and disabled the block certain contacts option. While my name wasn't listed on his block list, it seemed to clear things up immediately. I did the same and will see tomorrow if my other co-worker will finally see me as online (even though nobody was listed in my block list).

Unfortunately, it appears that the current solution must be cleared up by the person who is not encountering the problem. However, I still believe the core problem to be with the opposite adium client. My reasons:

• * I always appeared offline to my co-worker while I was using Trillian and he was using Adium.
  * I only started having the same problem (a different co-worker always appearing offline to me) when I switched from Trillian to Adium.

Hopefully a dev with knowledge of adium and the ICQ protocol reads this and has an idea as to where the real issue lies.

ok, so it seemed to have fixed me seeing a co-worker as earlier reported, but not my other co-worker seeing me. this is incredibly aggravating.
