If Safari crashes, send the crash report to Apple and they'll tell you what's wrong (we hope).
But if Adium crashes too when opening a message, try reinstalling WebKit.framework. (where can you get that?)

I actually hear Safari crashing is part of apples Bad Chi sensor. Try redecorating the room your computer resides in, or if you have an iBook or PowerBook, you may wish to try another location.

You may also want to consider hiring an exorcist to remove the computer gremlins.
