Hello, I am developing an Adium extension to show colored nicknames.
I have created some NSAttributedString methods to parse the colored nicknames and I only need someone to help me perhaps with creating a plugin for Adium. I have really just started programming Obj C, so I may have made some mistakes, I need someone to check my code. But it should be pretty much ok I think.
Here is a screenshot of an app that parses the nicknames into colored strings.

And just to update you on the progress, this is a first prototype. No gradients in both the background or the text color. Italic and bold are not at their best. Everything else works. This coloring appears only in the contact list, not in other windows or tooltips, for now.
Well, go to the track page, download my patch (version 3) and merge it with the latest adium svn. Then build it I hope Adium developers will have a look at it soon, but I really don't know if it will be added to trunk or it will be released officially ever.

You could contact Catfish_Man directly to find that out. As most users don't build Adium themselves (and don't even know how) it would cool to have this either in trunk or as a plugin
