Viewing profiles

I have to use the yahoo portion of adium for my working constantly and we all know the mac version of yahoo sucks. So one of the most important things for me is to be able to view profiles.

Is it possible to be able to view profiles without having had that person be online and added you to their list.

As it is right now, I have to add the contact, then get them to allow me to add them and then wait for them to be online to view their profile, or manually do a yahoo search in my web browser just to view a simple yahoo profile.

Why not a button within the program to just call up the profile name and link directly to the profiles.yahoo.com to get the info?

And while we're at it how about putting back the better contextual menu from the dock icon that lets me change status, log accounts on and off and do other tasks.

On Adium's contact list right click (command click) on the contact, go select 'Get info' which should be at the top, and then select the Info tab, and there's 'Profile (if available)' there.

I know but that profile info is only there if you have added the contact to your list and they have been online recently.

I am looking to be able to look up a profile just by typing in the name of the person of if a person has messaged me that's not on my contact list and you can't do it unless you do it manually in your web browser.

to check people's info who are not on your buddy list, hit apple-N, type in the name, hit enter, control-click in the message window, and view info
